Trendy shop specializing in fine foods...

Painting given to Yan Morneau of CIBC for the Pacini event on March 24, 2013, in support of the Fondation Honoré Mercier... sold at the silent auction.

This painting depicts a fine food shop: Les passions de Manon, located on the former site of the renowned Théâtre Corona of Saint-Hyacinthe. During the 1930s and 1940s, folk and variety artists stopped in Saint-Hyacinthe to perform. Among them, La Bolduc, Rose Ouellette (La Poune), Alyce Robi, Maurice Chevalier, Ti-zoune Guimnond and the troupe of Jean Grimaldi performed on the boards of the Théâtre Corona located on rue des Cascades.

During the 1960s it was at the Théâtre Paris that Charles Aznavour and other great names of French song performed. Later, artists would present their shows at the CEGEP and on the stage of the Institut de technologie alimentaire. In the early 2000s, the City of Saint-Hyacinthe adopted a cultural policy that led to the construction of the Centre des Arts Juliette-Lassonde. Inaugurated in 2006, this venue now allows the greatest artists of song and music to stop in Saint-Hyacinthe to present large-scale shows.
