Information
Privacy policy
This text is a first draft, written from what the site actually does. It has not been reviewed by legal counsel. The Studio’s “Privacy policy” document replaces it as soon as it is filled in.
What we collect
This site asks for no account and tracks no one. Two situations, and only two, involve personal information.
The contact form. You enter a name, an email address, a subject and a message. This is used only to reply to you. It passes through the Web3Forms service, which forwards it by email; that service is established outside Quebec, so your information is communicated outside the province for the time of that forwarding.
Analytics. The site counts page views using Google Analytics, which stores a cookie in your browser. Nothing is stored without your agreement: you are asked on your first visit, and declining takes nothing away from the site. The data is processed by Google, outside Quebec. Personalised advertising and cross-referencing with Google accounts are refused outright, whatever your choice.
What we do not do
We do not sell, rent or trade any information. We do no profiling, no targeted advertising, and we do not use your message for anything other than replying to you.
How long we keep it
Messages received through the form are kept for the duration of the correspondence and a reasonable follow-up, then destroyed. The analytics cookie, if accepted, expires after two years at most. Your choice itself is kept in your browser alone and never reaches us.
Your rights
You may request access to the information concerning you, its correction or its deletion, and you may withdraw a consent already given. You may also complain to Quebec’s Commission d’accès à l’information. Write to us and we will answer within the thirty days the law provides.
To change your mind about analytics: reopen the question.
Who is responsible
The person responsible for the protection of personal information is Yves Morier, reachable at ymorier@cgocable.ca.
