This house was built as per the parish priest Francois Cherrier’s plans. The Cherrier family is related to Louis-Joseph Papineau, on the maternal side. In Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu, a Patriots’ venerated site, the Cherrier house has a symbolic value; it is, with the church and the Patriots’ house, a silent witness of the 1817 rebellion.
House built between 1808 and 1811 and known as historical monument in 1980.
