Born in Saint-Hyacinthe on October 6, 1945 and graduated in law from Université Laval in 1969.
Lawyer in private practice in all matters, civil, criminal, matrimonial and business law from 1970 to 1978 in the La Survivance building, rue Girouard, Saint-Hyacinthe.
Acted as a criminal prosecutor for the Department of Justice as Deputy Attorney General (Crown Prosecutor) from June 1978 to August 1983.
Deputy Attorney General for the Montérégie region from 1983 to 1993, in Longueuil.
Co-author of a volume published in 1991 , dealing with socio-judicial intervention in conjugal violence , by Éditions Wilson et Lafleur .
Judge at the Court of Québec, Civil and Criminal Divisions, from February 1993 to May 2011.
Retired judge since May 2011, he acted as deputy judge of the Court of Québec.

Since 1980, as a self-taught artist – painter, he devotes part of his leisure time to seeking serenity by juxtaposing shapes and colors in the development of his art.
Since 2000, as a volunteer with the Aline-Letendre Foundation, he has been involved in the creation, development and financing of the Claudette-Bernier gardens rose garden (450 hybrid tea roses) for the benefit of patients at Hôtel-Dieu, a CHSLD in Saint-Hyacinthe.
